Spin the drama, DJ!

So, my best friend is in the beginnings of a long, very ugly divorce.  My daughter is in the Philippenes with her grandparents.  The credit cards have been blowin' up with expenses of moving into our new house (oh, worth it compared to where we moved from).  I got a nice buzz at the 4th of July block party at our new neighborhood.  We had storm damage to two of the trees in our back yard.  The dog is blowing his coat all over the house (Akita, and they are champion shedders when it gets hot outside).  My gamertag profile on Xbox Live has been growing, my Battlefield 2 career on the PC has pretty much stalled, and Vanguard is soon to hit Beta 3 - there's only about a 10% chance that I'll get into beta 3/4 - I honestly am not expecting to see an invite until it no longer really matters and all they are doing is a final systems check, in which case I won't be bothering with it.  I could be wrong, though.  Still waiting in the wings at work for something I've been waiting on for nearly 2 years...it's almost there, but I have know way of knowing until it actually happens, and it'll be a major life event.

So many things from so many directions.  Is it any wonder I'm having to continually remind myself to take it easy on the liquor cabinet.

360 Delivers!

So, the wife finally broke down and let me buy an Xbox 360.  Holy shmoley Batman!  This thing is just too cool to believe.  We only have 3 games, but it's already worth the cash we dropped on it.  We picked up the premium edition because wires are for losers, oblivion, kameo, ghost recon advanced warfighter, a play and charge kit, extra wireless controller, and the pelican vertical stand with fan (and a multimedia remote).  It took a few minutes to figure out some of the menus, and some of the account and profile stuff wasn't very intuitive or well laid out, but once you go online and read some of the details (the manuals are pitiful...get your leet infoz online) it all sort of falls into place.  I promptly went to the marketplace, charged up with 2000 points, and then dropped 400 of them for Gauntlet, because I do like to kick it old school.  That game is harder than I remember.  Of couse, when I played it in the arcade, I always put in at least 2 quarters, because 600 health is like, nothin in that game.  The fact that you can play old world arcade games multiplayer is just sweet.  It's like the gravy on an already incredible meal.  If you don't have one, get one.  My gamertag is Akherat if anyone wants to connect on Live.

You've been promoted!

So, for Father's Day, my BFHQ updated to reflect my promotion to PFC, Spec Ops basic badge, and Base Aviator badge.  Go TEAM!  Soon, I'll actually be able to unlock some weapons, and actually be able to not suck as bad as I do now.

The Sky is Falling!

So, I eventually did update my site.  Hoo-rah....  Hopefully, I'll actually try keeping up with it more in the future.  I've got some stuff I need to transcribe from my handwritten stories.  Give me something to do besides play Battlefield 2 and surf Vanguard boards.

everything here is mine. don't steal it without my permission, please.
